Darcy Wyatt DC Attempts to Shut Down Public Comment During New Mexico Board Meeting

Dr. Darcy Pope Wyatt attempted to stop testimony on the disputed NBCE–FCLB merger, exposing deeper questions about transparency, agenda control, and public accountability.

At the May 29, 2026 New Mexico Chiropractic Board meeting, Chair Dr. Darcy Pope Wyatt attempted to shut down public comment by Dr. Rod Justice as he raised concerns about the disputed NBCE–FCLB merger vote. Wyatt attempted to stop him, saying the issue did not pertain to the agenda and that the board would “move on.” The intervention was striking because public comment is intended to allow citizens to raise matters of concern, not merely agenda-approved topics. A state official had to step in and allow Dr. Justice to continue. The episode underscored growing concerns over transparency, conflict, and resistance to public scrutiny.

“I hate to interrupt, but we can discuss this at a later time, but it doesn’t pertain to our agenda today. So I appreciate you coming and talking about it, but we’re just going to move on.”

“I just didn’t know if it was it was going, what the point was. I know that the group was going against the board or threatening to have a lawsuit.”
